Real Estate People — Be Proud of Your Heritage
Real estate people—be proud of your real estate heritage.
As I’ve spent more time on LinkedIn connecting with others in the industry, I’ve noticed something troubling. Some of my colleagues and even friends seem unsure about what they’re doing or why they’re in real estate. I can relate. Back in school, everyone asked if I was just going to be a broker like my uncle. It was disheartening.
The reality is, real estate offers stability, and your education gives you the tools to thrive. The challenges are real—poor regulation, unethical players, demanding clients—but we can rise above all that.
We must.

Turning the Tide Together
Let’s break it down with some actionable advice.
**1. Students and New Grads:**
Don’t wait. Start building your network. Get on LinkedIn. Attend events. Learn. Engage. The earlier you start, the more advantage you have.
**2. Feeling Lost?**
There’s more than just brokerage and property management. There’s analysis, appraisals, development, green building, PropTech, ESG consulting, planning, construction finance, and more. Every building needs a real estate professional.
**3. Already in the Field?**
Stay the course. Be ethical. Be intentional. Change the narrative. Let your integrity be your legacy.
